Huntley 158 Special Savings Offer for
Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Chamber Members

Huntley Community School District 158 is committed to sustainability and clean energy. Among innovations that have helped lower the district’s operational costs over the years is its investment in solar energy. Seventy-five percent of the district’s annual power consumption currently comes from solar.

Huntley 158 is excited to announce a new community solar project that will benefit not only the district but also the broader community. The project involves the installation of a new solar farm on district property near the Reed Road campus, north of Martin Elementary School and Marlowe Middle School. The solar farm, expected to be completed by December 2025, is estimated to yield a savings to the district of approximately $1 million over the next 20 years.

As part of the solar agreement, Huntley 158 is able to extend a savings offer to the community – staff and families who live within Huntley 158 boundaries as well as local businesses! Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Chamber members* can earn up to an estimated 10 percent discount on their monthly electric bill by enrolling in a community solar project. No purchase or installation of solar panels are required.

The enrollment process must be completed by May 30, 2025 using Huntley 158’s unique referral code: huntley. Please note that it may take several months for the estimated savings to be reflected on ComEd bill statements.

*Large businesses with heavy electric use are eligible to enroll as an "anchor" subscriber for a larger solar allocation. If this describes your business, contact Solstice directly at sales@solstice.us or 866-826-1997 to learn more and enroll at no added cost.
