The Community Foundation for McHenry County Celebrates National Philanthropy Day with Announcement of New Office Location and Philanthropy Center
(Crystal Lake, IL) The Community Foundation for McHenry County (The Foundation) invites you to join them in “virtually” celebrating National Philanthropy Day on November 15. Philanthropy
Day is a special day set aside on the fifteenth of November to recognize the great contributions of philanthropy – and those active in the philanthropic community – both givers and receivers.
“This day signifies the importance of working together for the common good,” said Deborah Thielen, Executive Director.
To demonstrate their long term commitment to McHenry County, The Foundation will move into their new home located at 33 E. Woodstock St., Crystal Lake in the very near future. Being housed in a permanent, central location heightens their visibility and encourages more community participation. This new building will also house the Philanthropy Center, which will serve as a hub for charitable collaboration. This space provides unlimited opportunities to work together with a wide variety of people and organizations toward one common goal – to improve the lives of friends and neighbors in McHenry County. The Philanthropy Center was made possible through a generous donation from Greg and Dana Gliniecki.
“Greg and I felt strongly that McHenry County could benefit from a place that provides a unique opportunity to bring individuals, families and businesses to philanthropy and provide them with education and support as they explore and fulfill their philanthropic goals. It will serve as a place to think, plan, meet, support and innovate,” said Dana Gliniecki.
