Handel’s oratorio, Messiah, is a well-known Baroque masterpiece. Since the first performances in 1741, it continues to be one of the most often-performed works for chorus, soloists, and orchestra. Using only texts from the Bible, the story of the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus is told with powerfully inspiring choruses and beautifully dramatic solos.
